🎵 Read and write patterns: Students read the rhythm patterns, then write them.
🎵 Food Patterns: Students figure out the rhythm for each food pattern.
🎵 Unique Rhythms: Students read the rhythm pattern, then make the pattern unique by changing the rhythm pattern by one beat!
🎵 Copy the patterns: Students copy each pattern.
🎵 Trace the Rhythm: Students trace the rhythm of known songs and chants, including “Old Brass Wagon,” “Love Somebody,” and “Paw Paw Patch.”
🎵 Trace the Rhythm/ Circle the Form: Students trace the rhythm and circle the form letter for “Love Somebody” and “Old Brass Wagon.” (i.e. AAAB for “Love Somebody.”)
🎵 Dictate the rhythm: Students look at the lyrics, sing the song or to themselves, and dictate the rhythm of “Love Somebody” and “Old Brass Wagon.”
🎵 Color the patterns: Students color different rhythm patterns different colors. Standard and stick notation versions are included.
🎵 First Patterns: Students dictate the first pattern of each song: “Diddle Diddle Dumpling,” “Love Somebody,” “Naughty Kitty Cat,” “Paw Paw Patch,” “Old Brass Wagon,” and “Tideo.”
🎵 Compose your own rhythm: Students compose 16 beats of rhythm using ta , ti-ti, rest, and tika-tika.
🎵 Keys for the worksheets: Note, this only includes keys for the worksheets that have answers (as some of the worksheets are only for tracing/ writing practice)
🎵 Directions for the set
Please note: The wording “tika-tika” is not used in the worksheets themselves, so if you use another name for sixteenth notes, you'll be able to use these with your students. Standard and stick notation versions are included, as well as a “Z” rest and a traditional quarter rest.
