Are you looking for videos to add to your winter playlist, for the music room? In this blog post, I'm detailing five YouTube videos which would be perfect for your winter music lessons!
#1: New Year's Rhythm Reading Video
I created this video for students to read rhythm patterns with ta and ti-ti, or quarter and eighth notes, to celebrate the New Year!
#2: Winter Rhythm Reading Video
If you're looking for a similar video, but for winter instead of the New Year, you'll enjoy this video:
#3: "Let It Go"
This fun winter-themed video is for the song “Let it go” from “Frozen.” It's a unique arrangement, and sure to be a hit with your students! You can ask them how it's different from the original, how it's similar, which they prefer, etc.
#4: "Electric Winter"
This is another great winter-themed listening video, with a solo oboist. I've used this to introduce the oboe to my students. The music is catchy, and the scenes are beautiful!
#5: Line Rider for "Winter"
I absolutely love the line rider videos (and so do my students)! This one is for “Winter” from Vivaldi's “Four Seasons,” and would be a wonderful way to introduce the piece, have students talk about the form, and more!
